Last week as I watched the local TV news I was not delighted by the bad news about hunger and water shortage in our country.
This has emerged out due to the post election violence last year, since many people were left homeless and their properties were destroyed too.
Human beings are still dying in various parts of our country, yet our leaders are enjoying themselves not knowing what the citizens are going through, but some are good, like the speaker of the national assembly Kenneth Marende, who donated money to help the hunger stricken people in Northern Kenya.
At least, if our leaders lobbied for reduction of food prices items it can help. I think Hon Uhuru Kenyatta made the right decision when he said, our leaders cannot afford to ride expensive cars when people are starving during his budget speech this year.
I’m pleading to the government of Kenya to conserve our forests and also encourage recycling of papers by books, toilet papers and paper bags manufacturing companies.
Apart from that the government needs to dig up bore holes in various parts in the country and this will help to fight hunger and starvation in the future, because there will be enough rain and water projects.
If the government will not focus on this issues who will? and for how long will people continue dying due to hunger strike and starvations? Wake up?
