It was December last year when I went to visit my friends, those who leave and work on streets of Nairobi. Life looked sophisticated and boring on the streets. The sun was above the horizon as birds flew with joy as they sung their sweet melodies.
When I reached at the base where my friends live, I was shocked by the bad news that one of my friends had died simply because of a road accident. I stayed there for five hours taking with my friends about how they are been harassed by the city council and also the police.
I left them and I went back home but after two weeks I come to realize that he died simply because he was in drugs. He used to sniff glue, I felt so sorry for him because he died young and he was my best friend.

I’m pleading to the government of Kenya to take action to those people who sell glue to street children because if this continues many street children will die young and they will not have a bright future.
Glue sniffing is harmful to our children and youths. Do not give them handouts give them future,Let us find our future, please let us stop it!!

Martin, What do you want the government to do concerning the people who sell glue to children? How will the government find them?
The goverment should put up poasters, advertisement on radios and Tvs about glue selling to street children. This will be achived through puting up measures like if u are been caught selling glue to street chilren you are arrested and charged.

Hey Martin
I got your comment. Thankz a lot. I agree with you. In Bangladesh there are many kids who do not have anything. They just living on the streets and roaming here and there. It is really hurting me everyday when I see.
By the way thankz for come and see my blog. I hope you will keep in touch with me.
Cheers,
Safra
Hi Martin,
I was looking through some of your pictures on flickr as well as reading your blogs.
What I say is quite bleak, but what can we or I do to help? Not much… is there? I’m practically half way around the world. I’ll try to raise and spread awareness here and everywhere I go as well as , but I really think that the only person who can make a difference is you and your friends.
Have you tried forming a group to talk to the government or the media in Kenya or get in contact with an NGO.
OOh. I’ve got to go for now. I’ll come back to reply later.
That is a great question Thanya. Martin–what do you think people who don’t live in Kenya can do to help?
